I recently had a beautiful Seiko 6139-6000 make its way to my bench. It’s was in fantastic condition, except for the lume plots. They had aged quite badly over time and needed attention. The watch also needed an overhaul.

Below we can see the damaged dial before restoration. The dial itself is in good condition, but the lume plots had aged badly over time. They look as if they went mouldy.
Here is the dial after restoration. The old lume was stripped off and the new lume applied.
